Slaving for Love Paradox" Why You're Sabotaging Your Own Purpose

Are you living your purpose, or are you just performing for approval? I spent some time in my archives today and found a handwritten note - - a map of the unconscious mechanisms that keep us trapped in self-sabotage. It reminded me of something I see in my clients every single day: the "House Divided." We find ourselves playing both the "too responsible" role and the "too irresponsible" role, oscillating between working ourselves to the bone to prove our worth and crashing into self-destructive patterns when the weight becomes too much. I wrote a line on this old page that hit me hard today: 'Family love, friendship love, romantic love, myself love, life love, God love... = Slaving for love.' We tell ourselves we are pursuing purpose, but often, we are just in bondage to an inherited belief system. We are re-enacting patterns that started in utero, continuing a chain of hidden loyalty to those who came before us. If you feel like you are "slaving for love," it is time to stop looking outward.
